Anna (Edwards) Borcherdt is a Toronto based photographer, yoga nidra guide, and musician. Her portrait sessions are like love letters for what’s most alive for you right now. She uses the camera as a tool to being present and noticing - the light, energy, micro-moments, tones & textures.
Hi I'm Anna,
I often get told that working with me feels gentle and laid back, which is exactly what I want your experience to be.
But behind the scenes, my images come from being the photographer that will jump fences & climb trees to get the shot, I've gotten my boots soaked through with water, sat in muck and nearly gotten both heatstroke & frostbite.
I'll do silly dances and my best (or worst, you decide) Freddie Mercury impression, all to catch you glowing after a good laugh. My biggest joy is to jump out of bed to catch you in the light of a sunrise (even though I am the opposite of a morning person - I swear on any other day I hit that snooze button).
I love what I do, and it's an honour to share it with you!
THERE IS ENDLESS BEAUTY IN WHO YOU ARE…
What is most alive for you right now?
I create sessions around the things that matter the most.
✼ Catching your breath after tickle fights
✼ Dancing in a fresh snowfall
✼ The cozy tangle of blankets & limbs during snuggles in bed
✼ Slowly picking wildflower bouquets in the late summer sun
✼ Frolicking in a field at dusk
✼ A relaxed barefoot search for rocks & sea glass on the beach
✼ Morning coffee & the intimate moments before the day starts
✼ Sinking into each other's arm after hiking to an epic view
WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING…
“Anna oh my goddddd. Just an overwhelmingly loving and amazing experience. Seriously unbelievable. Milliseconds stand still somehow for you and then images like that come out.
I am in awe! Please never stop doing this and bringing out pictures of families they didn’t even know were possible!" - Connie H.
